About
Union Theatre is a local group based in the Solihull area and is a non-profit making theatre group, who make regular donations to various charities. As well as this, members of Union Theatre help to run Star Workshops, a group set up to introduce 6-16 year olds to the world of theatre. Here they can learn and develop skills, whether it is acting, singing or stagecraft.
As well as talented performers, there is an exciting and dynamic backstage team who are always happy to rise to the challenge that any of our directors might give them.
Pauline Brand, who unfortunately passed away on Saturday 6th February, 2010, started the group in 1977. Many of the original members are still part of the group (just don't ask them how old they are!)
However, we have members of all ages and welcome everyone young and not so young. As a group, we perform around 4 shows a year, including a pantomime or music hall at Christmas and an outdoor summer production.
The group rehearses every Tuesday and Thursday, see the rehearsals page for more details.
We perform at a variety of venues, including Dorridge Village Hall Theatre, Solihull Manor House Gardens, Christ Church Solihull and St Edburgha's Church, Yardley and we can bring the theatre to you through one of our entertaining roadshows, which features songs, sketches and much, much more!
Whether you are an actor, singer, dancer, painter, carpenter or costume-maker, we are always on the lookout for new members. Please contact us for more details.
In affiliation with NODA and NODA West Midlands.
